Covid-19 in Ireland: The forgotten industry of wedding rings | Ireland
According to a representative group, wedding rings are struggling to cover their business expenses as there is no Covid-19 support available to the industry.
The Wedding Band Association (WBA), which represents over 80 bands in Ireland, said some of its members are being forced to sell their company cars and equipment because they can no longer cover their business expenses.
Cathal Molloy, founder of the WBA, said: “Wedding bands have been overlooked as a business by the government. There is currently no business support for wedding rings.
“We are not applicable to the Covid Restrupts Support Scheme (CRSS) payment as you will need premises to access the payment and most wedding rings do not have it.”
