Forget Me Knot in Camden County recycles wedding flowers for distribution to those in need

HADDONFIELD, New Jersey (WPVI) – Leona Davis and her group of volunteers organize bundles of affection within the basement of their Camden County residence.

Overlook Me Knot is a corporation devoted to recycling marriage ceremony flowers and delivering them to residents of long-term care amenities.

“It is pure love in motion,” says Leona, founding father of Overlook Me Knot.

Leona says this can be a solution to breathe new life into flowers that may in any other case be thrown away. She based the group after her daughter bought married in 2016 and wished to donate her flowers to a care facility.

“We simply wished to place these flowers within the palms of those that are feeling a bit lonely or simply want some encouragement,” she mentioned. “The seed was sown for Overlook Me Knot and is a chance for brides and grooms to present again.”

The flower supply was a ray of sunshine for the residents of the manorcare facility within the parish of Voorhees. The residents’ faces lit up and got here to life as Leona handed them the flowers.

She mentioned it was a solution to make a human connection and thinks the world may use extra of it at present.
