Wedding Cake: Desi designer cakes are a hit this Shaadi season
While Indian weddings have their own colorful and unique traditions, they often don’t mind borrowing western concepts and making them their own. Among these is the wedding cake that went the Desi way with the tuxedo groom and the white clad bride toppers going through the Dulha-Dulhan makeover. Here’s more on the trend.

From intricate mehendi designs to animal figures like elephants and peacocks to adorable cake toppers for the bride and groom, baker Aarti Jha says that “many couples want Indian designs on cakes for a bespoke experience”.
Celebrity wedding cake
Most recently, Kajal Aggarwal’s wedding cake – a three-tier French-style croquembouche with choux pastry balls – was the focus of her wedding reception. Neha Kakkar and Rohanpreet Singh’s wedding cake was decorated with gold dust and blue orchids in five tiers. Some of the most decadent celebrity wedding cakes of all time include Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja’s six-tiered ones, as well as a bride pulling the groom’s collar.
